LSRP Program & Mandatory Receptor Evaluations Deadlines
Two Important Deadlines
The NJ LSRP(License Site Remediation Professional) mandatory enrollment deadline is May 7, 2012. All existing cases currently under the Department must retain a LSRP on May 7, 2012, and remediate their site under the new LSRP program, regardless of when the cleanup was initiated. May 7, 2012 is rapidly approaching, you need to choose a LSRP immediately.
All remediation program cases under Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA), including pre-SRRA active cases that are not currently under the LSRP program, were required to submit an initial receptor evaluation by March 1, 2012. Missing this established deadline may result in your case being transferred to the NJDEP (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection) for direct oversight. Direct Department oversight requires that a Remediation Trust Fund be established and involves the Department controlling the remediation. This limits a responsible party’s ability to influence the remedy selection and financial control of their project. The NJDEP has sent the following letter out to those responsible parties that have open cases without receptor evaluations submitted:
