Today, simple environmental problems can be resolved more quickly and in a more cost-effective manner than ever before. Responsible parties and property owners now have the option to address sites with individual or multiple areas of concern (AOCs) through the NJDEP Cleanup Star Program. The Cleanup Star Program is a voluntary program which allows NJDEP certified environmental professionals to investigate and remediate certain low risk, low priority properties or portions of properties, with limited administrative oversight by the NJDEP. The primary benefit of participating in the Cleanup Star Program is the ability to acquire an expedited No Further Action (NFA) approval from the NJDEP. The Cleanup Star Program stipulates that the NJDEP issue an NFA approval within 10 days of receiving an administratively complete submittal.

JMS is one of the first companies in the state to be certified under this program. JMS has helped many clients with real estate transactions or Brownfields Redevelopment projects acquire expedited NFA approval letters through the Cleanup Star Program. JMS currently has five Cleanup Star professionals on staff.
