Typically, major corporations with historically contaminated sites in various states retain a national environmental services firm to assess environmental conditions, estimate the total liability and conduct annually budgeted remediation activities. Little emphasis is placed on the environmental firm’s capabilities in each of the individual states. As a result, remediation activities on the sites are often prolonged, and there are few, if any, incentives to finish the work and reach closure.

JMS’ approach is to review available environmental data, assess the corporation’s goals, and identify the best firm in each state to respond to the particular environmental issue. JMS then manages and oversees the remediation in each location in order to complete the work expeditiously and secure a no further action determination from regulatory agencies.
